O sacerdos!

O sacerdos!

What are you, O priest? You are not your own creation, because you come from nothing, You do not exist to yourself alone, because you are an intercessor before God. You do not exist for yourself alone, because you are married to the Church. You do not belong to yourself, because you are the servant of all. You are not just you, because you are God's minister. What are you then? Nothing and everything, O Priest.

Nisi svoj, jer si sluga svima, Nisi ti, jer si Bog. Što si dakle? Ništa i sve. O svećeniče!

O kapłanie, kim ty jesteś? Nie jesteś sam z siebie, bo powstałeś z nicości, Nie jesteś dla siebie, bo jesteś pośrednikiem między ludźmi a Bogiem, Nie należysz do siebie, bo jesteś oblubieńcem Kościoła, Nie jesteś sobie tylko, bo jesteś sługą wszystkich, Nie jesteś tylko samym sobą, bo jesteś drugim Chrystusem, Kimże więc jesteś?
Niczym i wszystkim! O kapłanie!

"As an alter Christus, the priest is profoundly united to the Word of the Father who, in becoming incarnate took the form of a servant, he became a servant (Phil 2: 5-11). The priest is a servant of Christ, in the sense that his existence, configured to Christ ontologically, acquires an essentially relational character: he is in Christ, for Christ and with Christ, at the service of humankind. Because he belongs to Christ, the priest is radically at the service of all people: he is the minister of their salvation, their happiness and their authentic liberation, developing, in this gradual assumption of Christ's will, in prayer, in "being heart to heart" with him. Therefore this is the indispensable condition for every proclamation, which entails participation in the sacramental offering of the Eucharist and docile obedience to the Church."

Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church
Pope Benedict XVI

"Stay with me, and then I shall begin to shine as you shine: so to shine as to be a light to others. The light, O Jesus, will be all from you. None of it will be mine. No merit to me. It will be you who shines through me upon others.... Make me preach you without preaching - not by words, but by my example and by the catching force, the sympathetic influence, of what I do - by my visible resemblance to your saints, and the evident fulness of the love which my heart bears to you"

Prayers, Verses and Devotion

John Henry Cardinal Newman In nomine † Patris et † Filii et † Spiritus Sancti. Amen.

Tu es Domine gloria mea, Tu exaltas caput meum.

Quoniam videbo cælos tuos, opera digitorum tuorum: lunam et stellas, quæ tu fundasti.

For I will behold your heavens, the works of your fingers: the moon and the stars, which you have founded.

In te speraverunt patres nostri: speraverunt, et liberasti eos.

In you, our fathers have hoped. They hoped, and you freed them.

Quoniam tu es, qui extraxisti me de ventre: spes mea ab uberibus matris meæ.

For you are the one who has drawn me out of the womb, my hope from the breasts of my mother.

Lætabor et exultabo in te: psallam nomini tuo Altissime.

I will rejoice and exult in you. I will sing a psalm to your name, O Most High.

Et sperent in te qui noverunt nomen tuum: quoniam non dereliquisti quærentes te Domine.

And may they hope in you, who know your name. For you have not abandoned those seeking you, Lord.
About Me:

Salve!
Ego sum frater tuus. Meus nomen est Petrus. Ego adveho ex Regno Croatico.

Fratres: Sobrii estote, et vigilate: quia adversarius vester diabolus tamquam leo rugiens circuit, quaerens quem devoret: cui resistite fortes in fide.

It is vanity then to seek after, and to trust in, the riches
that shall perish. It is vanity, too, to covet honours, and to
lift up ourselves on high. It is vanity to follow the desires of
the flesh and be led by them, for this shall bring misery at the
last. It is vanity to desire a long life, and to have little
care for a good life. It is vanity to take thought only for the
life which now is, and not to look forward to the things which
shall be hereafter. It is vanity to love that which quickly
passeth away, and not to hasten where eternal joy abideth.

Custodi nos, Domine, ut pupillam oculi.
Sub umbra alarum tuarum protege nos.

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in secula seculorum. Amen.
