Bishop Questions St. Michael Devotion, Calls for "Exorcism" of Homophobia

Bishop Vicente de Paula Ferreira, 55, of Livramento de Nossa Senhora in Bahia, Brazil, criticized the consecration of dioceses to St. Michael the Archangel.
In an August 8 social-media post, Bishop Ferreira wrote: “Are there theological justifications for consecration to St. Michael? One consecrates oneself to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Isn’t the devil that is being fought rather imaginary? The greater exorcism should be of homophobia, femicide, racism, crimes against Indigenous peoples — of this legion of evils.”
Ferreira’s comments came as dioceses across Brazil have been participating in “The Great Reconquest,” an initiative promoted by the Hesed Institute centered on devotion and consecration to St. Michael. According to ACI Digital, 34 Brazilian dioceses had been consecrated to St. Michael by August 11.

Gibt es theologische Rechtfertigungen Jesus zu folgen? Dies hatten sich damals auch schon die Schriftgelehrten gefragt. Wie diese sich entschieden haben und wie alles ausgegangen ist, wissen wir ja.

So, did Leo XIV appoint a Freemason? There is strong documentary evidence that a Roman man named Umberto Longo occupied Masonic positions in 2013–2014. There is unquestionable evidence that Professor Umberto Longo subsequently participated in events (2019, 2022) connected to major Italian Masonic institutions.

Did Leo XIV Appoint a Freemason to the Vatican?

On August 13, Leo XIV appointed Umberto Longo, Director of the Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages in Rome and Professor of Medieval History at the secular Sapienza University of Rome, as a member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences.
The online footprint of Umberto Longo repeatedly places that name - and, in later cases, an identifiable Professor Longo - within the institutional environment of Italian Freemasonry and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The examples span a decade.
2013 - Scottish Rite, Lazio: The Masonic publication LOGOS identifies a certain “Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°” as an officer of the Loggia di Perfezione Maestri Segreti “Giano” in Rome.
The publication introduces a series of texts under the heading: “Le Tavole del Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°.” The abbreviation Fr. is used throughout for Fratello - “Brother” - while the number identifies the Scottish Rite degree. More importantly, the issue contains the official 2013 officers …More

One day, a shepherd deeply offended a man. Instead of letting the insult go, the man held on to his anger until it turned into a desire for revenge.
He knew the shepherd often took his animals to graze in a remote area where hardly anyone ever passed by. So he came up with a plan: he would dig a deep pit along the path and wait for the shepherd to fall into it.
Late that night, under the cover of darkness, the man began digging.
With every shovel of dirt, he imagined what might happen. Maybe the shepherd would fall into the pit and break a leg. Maybe he would be badly injured and unable to climb out. In his darkest thoughts, the man even wondered whether his enemy might die there before anyone could find him. And if the shepherd himself did not fall in, perhaps one of his cows, sheep, or goats would.
The man kept digging, fueled by resentment. He became so consumed by thoughts of revenge that he failed to notice how deep the hole had become.
Hours passed.
When the first light of dawn …More

Life in the Making
It all begins in silence: one cell meets another, and in an instant, a new, unique, and unrepeatable life emerges. The imagery unfolds ceaselessly—division, form, heartbeat—until there is no longer any doubt about what we are seeing: not a mass of tissue, but a tiny body, joined to its mother by a cord that serves as both bridge and lifeline. Hands reaching out, legs curled up, a face settling into sleep just as any human being does.
And therein lies the wrenching realization: that very being—already capable of movement, sensation, and resembling us—is the one whose life is chosen to be ended in a late-term abortion. It is not an abstract cell that is being stopped; it is a story that already possessed form, expression, and a heartbeat of its own. That is why those who defend life from conception describe such a decision—particularly in the later stages—as an act of special cruelty: because the biological development itself, revealed without filters, leaves little room …More

No bulldozing Big Bend!
Take action here: chilli ‒ power, in your hand Bulldozers broke ground inside Big Bend National Park last week, right along the Rio Grande with Santa Elena Canyon in the background. The plan is about 200 miles of patrol roads, 17 miles of vehicle barriers, and surveillance technology, paid for with a $1.7 billion contract to a private construction company. Here is what makes this so hard to accept. Inside the park, apprehensions accounted for less than one tenth of one percent of the national total. This is not a place where people are crossing. The Border Patrol and the Park Service have worked side by side out there for decades without carving roads through the wildest country left in Texas. More than 500,000 people visit Big Bend every year. The park brought almost $57 million into that local economy in 2024. The river outfitters in Terlingua are the ones who lose when public access to the Rio Grande gets cut off. That is a real economy with real jobs, and it …More

"We didn't have to worry about any type of barrier. We had a God-made barrier," said Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland of Terrell County, a vast and sparsely populated area northeast of the park. He spent 26 years in the US Border Patrol, hearing little if any talk of needing extra infrastructure in the area where he grew up, he said. "But that's definitely changed."
US Customs and Border Protection says it's not planning to build the same kind of 30-foot-high barrier that has appeared across parts of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas inside the national park. But critics say the plan that is in the works is no less destructive.
Earlier this month, bulldozers were videoed uprooting trees and shoveling dirt as wild animals trotted by. They were doing preliminary work ahead of the budgeted $1.72 billion main construction project designated for the area inside Big Bend National Park, the agency said.
It's part of the bigger plan to finish the border wall — or some form of it — before …More

There’s an old image of a fox covered in fleas. When the irritation becomes unbearable, the fox slowly walks toward a river. It doesn’t panic, run, or thrash around. It simply steps into the water, inch by inch.
As the water rises, the fleas begin moving upward. They leave the tail, then the back, then the ears, until eventually they are all crowded onto the last part still above the surface—the fox’s nose.
And then, quietly, the fox goes completely under.
No struggle. No drama.
It simply comes out cleaner.
Life can feel that way with people, too.
When things are going well, there is often no shortage of company. Friends call. Coworkers laugh at your jokes. Acquaintances want to be around you. People say, “I’m always here if you need anything.”
Then something happens.
You lose a job. A relationship falls apart. Money gets tight. You get sick. You go through grief, disappointment, or a season when you simply have nothing left to give.
And suddenly, people begin to disappear.
One by one,…More

Novus Ordo Confirmations in Seattle FSSP parish?

Thank you @Lisi Sterndorfer for all your excellent information. ~ 😍

Edie Loughmiller

About 14 years ago, when I belonged to a Fraternity of St Peter parish community, all couples planning to be married had to attend Novus Ordo classes in the neighboring city. No exceptions. If the Fathers did not cooperate, they were in danger of losing their faculties for performing marriages all-together. It's just the way it is in the FSSP. And, we all know that in most cases their main mission is to draw the faithful away from a nearby SSPX chapel. Every sermon must include some condemnation of the SSPX - it's mandatory and expected. At least those are the conclusions I've come to over the years. Parish life is so much more peaceful and sublime with the FSSPX, where the politics of Rome don't mess everything up.

“Globalism has already failed to meet the needs of the people. It serves only the financial elite,” Marian Eleganti, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Chur, told LaNuovaBq on August 13. On Muslim immigration, he said: “Personally, I am convinced that Islam cannot be integrated into our political systems shaped by Christianity. There is no apolitical Islam, consisting purely of an interior religious life. It is a system of domination. The more convinced its followers are of this, the less integrable it is. The result is parallel societies.” He also criticized the Church’s approach to unlimited immigration: “The Catholic Church should not adopt an idealistic approach… [that] ignores the very real social problems associated with unlimited immigration.”

Bishop Eleganti: Islam poses ‘very serious’ danger to the West

“Globalism has already failed” and the crisis of predominantly Muslim migration is leading to a point of “no return”, Bishop Marian Eleganti has declared. The former auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Chur is one of a handful of prelates who publicly denounces Islam and the concept of modern migration into the West, and has regularly linked the demographic crisis in the West to the crisis of immigration simultaneously affecting Europe. Interviewed recently by La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, Eleganti warned that the Catholic Church “should not take an idealistic approach on this issue”, outlining that this meant the Church should avoid preaching “a moralism detached from reality, which ignores the concretely existing social problems linked to unlimited immigration and which can only be solved with political common sense.”

U.S. sailors are freaking out off the coast of Iran—literally: “I hope I don’t wake up tomorrow,” write the terrified sailors as they lose their minds. What happened? A nine-month voyage to the shores of Iran.
----
Well, we’ve actually finished fighting. The crew of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is freaking out. “I hope I don’t wake up tomorrow,” say the terrified sailors; some are trying to jump overboard. So what happened, you ask? It’s just a mission off the coast of Iran that’s already been dragging on for nine months.
----
The sailors’ wives have panicked. “I hope I don’t wake up tomorrow,” a sailor from the aircraft carrier messaged his wife via instant messaging. So many such messages from the crew have come in that the information has already leaked to the press. The situation aboard the Abraham Lincoln was reported not only by specialized military publications such as *Navy Times* and *Stars and Stripes*, but also by the British newspaper *The Guardian*

The Honeycomb, the Lily and the Bomb

– Folha de S. Paulo, June 6, 1987 –
by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
Back in the seventies, the Brazilian newspaper, Folha de S. Paulo, asked Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira if he favored the end of legal restrictions to divorce. His reply is very applicable to the present debate around same-sex “marriage.” We reproduce the newspaper interview here having in mind the similarity between the two issues.
_______________ * * * ________________
The Brazilian Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) had numerous jousts against divorce in its history. Employing every means of action in this struggle, the TFP fought against it until the final moment.
The victory of divorce did not result, however, from the fact that a particularly fervid or efficacious pro-divorce onslaught had finally managed to raze the glorious rampart of conjugal indissolubility. Rather, this victory resulted from the lamentable relaxations that occurred within the Catholic milieu itself! But, I insist,…More

Not Disturbing the Political Powers Behind France’s Euthanasia Law? Bishop Emeritus Dominique Rey told TribuneChrétienne.com of his one regret about Leo XIV’s September 25–28 visit to France: the Pope’s “very busy program” leaves no time to visit people at the end of life or palliative care units. Yet Leo XIV’s schedule includes several other meetings, including one with survivors of clergy sexual abuse. Meanwhile, France is close to legalizing euthanasia.
