God’s love is stronger than death …
Sunday March 22 - V of Lenten
Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus' weeping at the pain of Martha and Mary over the death of their brother Lazarus reveals to us, inter alia, two aspects of the "Being of God."
Jesus' "weeping" reveals, first and foremost, the loving Heart of God the Father, who feels compassion for his creatures and suffers when they suffer...
Furthermore, it is not the weeping of one who surrenders in the face of evil and death, or the manifestation of sterile sentimentality, but rather the "signal" of the unleashing of the His greater Power of love, capable of changing and transforming reality, of producing an explosion of life that will express its greatest power in his Resurrection from the dead. A Resurrection of which Lazarus' return from death to earthly life is just a powerful "sign." Actually the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, is God's definitive victory over evil and death, in which all believers will take part in the last day .
