The devil attacks those who spread Christian truth, “corrupts the shepherds” of the Church and seeks particularly to destroy the family, Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke told Shawn Ryan in his September 8 podcast. Completed in May 2026, the restoration of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, Nebraska, revived its historic artistic character. Like many churches, its interior was disfigured in the mid-20th century, including the loss of its original apsidal fresco and installation of a monumental crucifix with a faux stained-glass-style backdrop. Conrad Schmitt Studios renewed the interior with stenciling, gold leaf, faux-marbled columns, and a new apsidal mural depicting the Ascension. The project also returned the high altar to prominence.

Today, the Vatican released the final report of Synodal Study Group 6, which deals with relations between bishops, religious and consecrated life, and lay ecclesial associations. Under a proposal to “establish more synodal structures,” the report calls for “equitable and participatory representation” of consecrated persons and laity “at all decision-making levels” - and: “as full members and not merely as consultants, in diocesan, national, and international commissions, as well as in Vatican dicasteries.” At the diocesan level “it is necessary to allow for broader participation of consecrated persons in the decision-making processes of the local Church.” Women Religious in the Selection of Bishops The report proposes to: “allow women religious to participate in the process of electing bishops responsible for consecrated life at the national and diocesan levels”. The Second Pastoral Synod of the Archdiocese of Kraków degenerates into a 'rainbow event'. It opened in March 2026 under the leadership of Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, and the first 56-page report was produced on 19 June. A Synodal Day of Recollection has been scheduled for 10 October 2026, and the next plenary session is planned for 12–13 February 2027. Today, the Vatican announced that Leo XIV approved Archbishop Andrea Ding Yang, 44, of Chongqing, China, on 28 July and that he was consecrated a bishop today. Andrea Ding Yang, born in Chongqing in 1981, was ordained a priest in 2007 after studying at the Beijing state seminary. He was chosen unilateral by the Chinese state religion on 15 April. Yesterday (Sept 8) I formally asked the religious community Missionaries of Charity Contemplative Brothers of Mother Teresa, Rome, if I could join them as a religious brother. I am ready to be consecrated and take vows. I wrote to Fr. Ramon Lustiner m.c, the Father General of the community. He is in Rome these days. I had been living in a dormitory of their Home for the Aged, Casa Serena. I participated in their daily prayers, at the mother house. My Eucharistic Adoration time was 8 a.m to 10 a.m and then 7 p.m to 8 p.m before the night prayers. But to accept me as a member of their religious community, to live with them as a brother, Fr.
