– Folha de S. Paulo, March 28, 1984 – by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira In my long public life, I have never been a politician. I was not one, even in 1934 when I served as a representative for São Paulo in the constituent assembly on the “Single Slate.” In fact, on that slate, I did not represent any political party but the large non-partisan organization known as the Catholic Electoral League. During my term, I took a personal stance — different from that of my caucus — only on issues related to defending the Church and Christian civilization. After my term ended, the two main political groups in São Paulo — the PRP and the Constitutionalist Party — politely yet insistently invited me to join their slates for the 1935 election. I chose instead to run as an independent candidate, even though the results of that election (which should be noted) were fiercely contested. I recall all these facts to clearly show how long I’ve been detached from party politics. It is a detachment that only very …More
Pro-homosexual Archbishop John C. Wester of Santa Fe, New Mexico, defended "our Muslim neighbors' right to worship" in a July 27 statement. He had heard in recent weeks concerns from some residents regarding the proposal to build a mosque and community center in Albuquerque's North Valley. "Our Muslim neighbors have the same God-given and constitutionally protected right to worship freely as every other faith community, including our own. Defending that right is not only a civic duty but a core element of Catholic teaching", the Archbishop wrote. According to Monsignor Wester, supporting the construction of a mosque is entirely consistent with Catholic tradition and moral commitments. He urged Catholics to "choose respect, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence." In 2025, it emerged that, Archbishop Wester promoted and lived with a priest who had spent ten years in a registered homosexual relationship. Picture: AI, #newsXofkbkkgnx
When Atilla the Hun stormed Italy in the year 452, he was met by the Sovereign Pontiff Pope Leo the Great. The Hungarian chronicles record that the warrior received from Heaven the following message: "Hearken to the command of the Lord God, Jesus Christ. Thy pride shall not allow you to enter into the holy city where the bodies of my Apostles lie. Return. Later, one of your descendents will come to Rome with humility, and there I will cause him to receive a crown that shall last forever." King Stephen of Hungary fulfilled the promise God made to Atilla Attila thereupon recrossed the Alps, and had only just time to reach the Danube before he died. But, in the days of St. Stephen the heavenly promise was fulfilled. Indeed, Stephen inherited from his father Géza the dukedom of Hungary that had only a sprinkling of Catholics among the wild Magyars. He left it as a kingdom recognized by the Pope Sylvester II and a people firmly established in the Holy Faith. He made two Codes of Law, in which …More
