New Synodal Report: Laity at All Decision-Making Levels

Today, the Vatican released the final report of Synodal Study Group 6, which deals with relations between bishops, religious and consecrated life, and lay ecclesial associations.
Under a proposal to “establish more synodal structures,” the report calls for “equitable and participatory representation” of consecrated persons and laity “at all decision-making levels” - and: “as full members and not merely as consultants, in diocesan, national, and international commissions, as well as in Vatican dicasteries.”
At the diocesan level “it is necessary to allow for broader participation of consecrated persons in the decision-making processes of the local Church.”
Women Religious in the Selection of Bishops
The report proposes to: “allow women religious to participate in the process of electing bishops responsible for consecrated life at the national and diocesan levels”.
It also proposes their participation in the election of chaplains for religious communities.

Priest suspended from Catholic college for backing traditional doctrine - LifeSite

Tue Sep 8, 2026 - 1:12 pm EDT HEILIGENKREUZ, Austria (LifeSiteNews) — A Catholic college barred a priest and theology professor from teaching after he refused to retract his defense of traditional doctrine. On September 4, the official news agency of the Austrian Bishops’ Conference announced that Father Edmund Waldstein will not return to his teaching position at the Benedict XVI Philosophical-Theological College in the Abbey of Heiligenkreuz, Austria, at least for the remainder of Rector Wolfgang Klausnitzer’s tenure. The immediate cause of the decision relates to his advocacy of Catholic “integralism,” specifically a blog post where he argued in favor of the death penalty for heretics. The Josias, a Catholic publication co-founded by Waldstein, defined integralism as: a tradition of thought that, rejecting the liberal separation of politics from concern with the end of human life, holds that political rule must order man to his final goal. Since, however, man has both a temporal …

The flourishing Cistercian abbey of Heiligenkreuz and their Benedict XVI College (Hochschule) aren't traditional (TLM) but still way too conservative for the Vatican not to wreck them.
Rector Wolfgang Klausnitzer for example is an outsider. He popped up after the apostolic visitation of the College.

MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY IN ROME LABELLED ‘DOMESTIC TERRORIST’? : BIBLE, VC2 AND CATECHISM OF POPE JOHN PAUL II ‘POLITICALLY DANGEROUS’.

MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY IN ROME LABELLED ‘DOMESTIC TERRORIST’? : BIBLE, VC2 AND CATECHISM OF POPE JOHN PAUL II ‘POLITICALLY DANGEROUS’.
Yesterday (Sept 8) I formally asked the religious community Missionaries of Charity Contemplative Brothers of Mother Teresa, Rome, if I could join them as a religious brother. I am ready to be consecrated and take vows. I wrote to Fr. Ramon Lustiner m.c, the Father General of the community. He is in Rome these days.
I had been living in a dormitory of their Home for the Aged, Casa Serena. I participated in their daily prayers, at the mother house. My Eucharistic Adoration time was 8 a.m to 10 a.m and then 7 p.m to 8 p.m before the night prayers.

But to accept me as a member of their religious community, to live with them as a brother, Fr. Ramon needs the permission of the secular police in Rome. Since, I affirm the Catholic teaching outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation from Hell according to the Bible ( John 3:5, Mark 16:16), …Mai

‘Mirror of the Blessed Virgin Mary’ by St. Bonaventure –– Chapter III, ‘THE MEANINGS OF THE NAME MARY’ – pages 18; part 4

[Saint Bonaventure – XIII Century AD: born: Civita di Bagnoregio, Papal States/died: Lyon, Kingdom of Burgundy-Arles; (aged 52-53); Cardinal, Bishop, Doctor of the Church, Seraphic Doctor, Teacher of the Faith, Writer, Philosopher]
CHAPTER IV -- THE NAME OF THE BLESSED MARY IS FREE FROM ALL VICE AND RESPLENDENT WITH EVERY VIRTUE
Hail Mary. This most sweet and affectionate name, so full of grace and so noble, so glorious and so worthy, excellently befits Our Lady.
For most fittingly is so loving a virgin named Mary. For she is Mary, in whom there is no vice, and who is glorious with every virtue. She is Mary, who was entirely immune from the seven capital sins. She was most humble in opposition to pride; most loving by charity in opposition to envy; most meek against anger by her gentleness; indefatigable by her diligence against sloth; Mary by her poverty was detached against avarice; against gluttony she was most sober by her temperance; against lust she was most chaste by her virginity …Mai

Holy Face Devotion: Home
Sister Mary of St. Peter (1816–1848), a Carmelite of Tours, reported interior locutions calling for reparation for blasphemy and the profanation of Sunday. Devotion to the Holy Face subsequently developed at Tours; the Archdiocese of Tours states that Pope Leo XIII approved the devotion in 1885, when the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face was established.
The traditional Little Chaplet honors the five senses of Christ's Holy Face in five groups of six small beads and then recalls his public ministry on three small beads. With six large beads, there are 39 beads in all. This is a private devotion rather than a liturgical rite, and claims associated with private revelations must be understood according to the Church's teaching in Verbum Domini 14.

Cardinal Burke Discusses Demonic Attacks with Shawn Ryan

The devil attacks those who spread Christian truth, “corrupts the shepherds” of the Church and seeks particularly to destroy the family, Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke told Shawn Ryan in his September 8 podcast.
Ryan is a former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor. He grew up Catholic but never “took Church seriously”. When he left home, he lost faith. In 2025, he called himself a Christian believer. In April 2026, he said, “I consider myself Catholic, but I bounce back and forth between that and non-denominational.”
In the interview with Burke, he said that he had undergone four exorcisms with two different priests after what he described as encounters with demonic entities. He also mentioned a psychedelic experience that he believed had shown him hell.
Ryan described sensationalist disturbances that continued after the exorcisms, including picture frames coming off the walls, unexplained bodily “manifestations” and every smoke alarm and detector in his house repeatedly going off at around 12:45…Mai

Why I hate the old Latin Mass: A confession

(RNS) — Penitent: Bless me Father for I have sinned. It has been a week since my last column, I mean my last confession. Since that time, I have expressed hatred toward the old Latin Mass, aka the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM), aka the Tridentine Mass, aka … Priest: Yes, yes, I know what you are talking about. The Mass that was celebrated in the Catholic Church before the Second Vatican Council. Penitent: The old Latin Mass is like a zombie. When we went from Latin into English in 1964, we thought it was dead, but it keeps coming back. We thought it would fade away or people would be satisfied with going to a Latin version of the new liturgy. Not so. Priest: Hatred is a sin. Jesus told us to love one another as he has loved us. Penitent: I know. Actually, I don’t hate the people who go to the old Latin Mass. Many of them are nice, pious people. They find spiritual nourishment in their Mass. With better catechesis, I think they would appreciate the new liturgy. On the other hand, I do hate …

It seems that the author is unaware that the foundation of the mass and the faith is the Apostles. The reason we don't have "Eucharistic Prayers" based on other Gospels is because The Cannon was passed down from the Apostles. They knew Christ personally and expressed what they received in the Cannon. Changing the Cannon into a set of eucharistic prayers implies that "we" know better than the Apostles or that the understanding of the eternal and unchanging God has changed. We come to the mass to receive what the Apostles passed on, not to judge it, change it or improve it. I am not qualified to judge the validity, liceity or value of the Novus Ordo. I simply know it is not what the Apostles passed on to us.

It is beyond safe to assume the demons hate the "old Latin Mass" ergo Thomas Reese SJ can be judged by the company he keeps

Synodality Is Inspired by the Protestant Model - Cardinal Brandmüller

Cardinal Walter Brandmüller, 97, in a text published by Sandro Magister on September 8, writes about “synodality.” Main points:
- According to the classical Catholic understanding, a synod is a meeting of bishops for the purpose of exercising jointly their teaching and pastoral ministry.
- In 1965, Paul VI created the so-called Synod of Bishops as a consultative body of the pope.
- Recently established bodies whose members include, in addition to bishops, priests and lay faithful of both sexes cannot properly be called synods.
- Competent laypeople can, of course, be entrusted with a consultative role. But wherever such collaboration is practiced, one should carefully avoid any misleading use of the terms “synod,” “synodality,” and the like, and instead find a term that adequately expresses the actual situation.
- The establishment of such bodies arises from an effort to adopt secular structures and democratic procedures within the life of the Church.
- What is being proposed within the …Mai

Today, Leo XIV praised the liturgical reform after Vatican II as it made liturgy “more accessible”. And: The Novus Ordo is “firmly rooted in the living tradition of the Church”.
